Recently, we had the privilege of meeting some truly inspiring friends who are passionately dedicated to combating food insecurity. TABLE FOR TWO USA (TFT) is a 501(c)(3) organization working tirelessly to address global food imbalances through a meaningful meal-sharing program. They partner with corporations, restaurants, schools, and other food establishments to provide healthy meals that carry the TFT brand. For every healthy meal served, they donate $0.25 to provide a school meal for a child in need, ensuring that no child faces hunger. I was even fortunate enough to learn how to make sushi from them! Their commitment to making a difference is truly heartwarming.

Are you or someone you know working toward a GED? In order to take the official GED Exam in D.C. you must first take and get a certain score on the GED Ready Practice Test. You can take any of the four subject area tests, including Language Arts, Social Studies, Science and Math for FREE at the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Library!

The Adult Learning Department has timeslots open for walk-ins to take the test on Tuesdays from 10:30 a.m. - 1 p.m. and Thursdays from 5 - 7 p.m. You must be at least 18 years of age and bring a photo ID with your address to take the test. We recommend arriving 15 minutes before the start time so you can sign in with Library staff.
